I can't say anything about the type differences.
I drive the 215/55 R18 V version for SUV (Crossclimate 2). The V version is supposed to be slightly cheaper in fuel consumption according to factory data. Larger variants as all-season tires I would not take, specially for winter-use.
Ultimately, the purchase price is also decisive.
